Triple Offset Butterfly Valves

Triple-Offset valves use three offsets to create a high performance and low friction seal.

The fundamental feature of the valve design is the three offsets, these are highlighted in the 3D figure below:

Offset 1 – an offset between the shaft centreline and seat

Offset 2 – an offset between the centreline of the pipeline and the valve shaft

The valve shaft is offset from the centre line in both the X and Y axis, which makes up the first two offsets.

Offset 3 – An angular offset of the seating faces creating the conical geometry of the seat faces

The third offset consists of a conical angle on the sealing faces meaning the sealing faces only come into contact at the point of sealing.

Each Triple-Offset Butterfly Valve can be offered with either flat-face or raised-face flanges.

Flat face flange – gasket face is flat and on the sane face as the bolting face (see image below)

Raised face flange – Gasket surface is raised above the bolting face.

The triple-offset range is available in the three main body configurations.

BU04 –Wafer-Type Raised Face & Flat Face availability

Designed in accordance with API609 Cat. B.

Don’t have attachment lugs.

BU05 –Lug-Type Raised Face & Flat Face availability

Designed in accordance with API609 Cat. B.

The lug body has protruding lugs in the periphery of the body, which provides a passage to the bolt holes that match with those in the flanges.

The Lugged body design model provides a cost-effective solution for non-critical services whereas the double-flanged model provides a standardised connection suitable for critical services.

BU06 – Double-Flanged, Raised Face and Flat Face availability

Designed in accordance with API609 Cat. B.

The inlet and outlets have a flanged connection.

Anti-Blowout Design

• Designed with anti-blowout features included as standard to help prevent the valve shaft from being ejected from the valve
• The anti-blowout device is located at the bottom end of the shaft – preventing the stem blowout from the top of the valve
• In accordance with API 609 requirements, the valve endcap is bolted to the bottom end of the valve and prevents stem blowout from the valve bottom

Conical Seat Geometry

• Our Triple Offset design employs a uniform profile around the conical sealing face to ensure effective sealing is achieved
