Alloy 20 Valve Applications

Alloy 20 valves offer a unique combination of high strength, tight sealing, durability, good weldability, low coefficient of friction and excellent corrosion resistance properties (encompassing corrosion and erosion).

Alloy 20 material properties are non-magnetic and non-toxic, making it easy to maintain and clean and suitable for applications such as sulphuric acid which requires excellent corrosion resistance.

Alloy 20 valves support applications such as:

  • Cleaning and pickling lines
  • Condensate systems
  • Cooling water systems
  • Gas desulfurization (FGD) systems
  • Handling corrosive fluids
  • Hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and sulfuric pumps and valves
  • Pharmaceutical processing equipment
  • Sanitary fluids
  • Wastewater applications
  • Other demanding applications

Alloy 20 valves are well-suited for applications that require high flow rates and positive shut-off, with compatibility with corrosive fluids.

Alloy 20 Valve types

Due to its long service life and corrosion resistance, Alloy 20 is an ideal choice for valve types, including:

  • Butterfly valves
  • Ball valves
  • Check valves
  • Gate valves
  • Globe valves

Alloy 20 valves provide a cost-effective reliable selection for applications where materials may fail due to corrosion.

Alloy 20 valves - supporting industry applications

For these reasons, Alloy 20 is an ideal specialist material in demanding applications for several industries and related applications such as chemical processing plants, pharmaceutical industries, power generation and power plants, wastewater treatment plants, pulp and paper mills, medical as well as food and beverage processing plants, where corrosion performance, performance durability and long service life are critical factors.

Alloy 20 - your material selection

The decision to use Alloy 20 for your next valve project will always depend on your specific application and requirements. Considerations may include the criticality of your valve application, material performance, project lifecycle, product service life and costs, especially when corrosion resistance is essential.
